Blogging - The New Way to Communicate on the Web
As stated in the Wall Street Journal article, companies are hiring blogging experts with titles such as "Chief Blogger" and paying them US$40-70,000 annually. Others have tacked the responsibilities on to their marketing or public relations staff. Companies see blogging as a way to create loyalty and trust with consumers. Showing consumers their soft side rather than the typical selling they usually do.
I must say I saw blogs initially as another link in the 'information overload' chain. Since I created mine, I like the fact I can post my own thoughts on a
topic of interest whenever I want to without having to write a very formal piece or wait for a particular time. After all, that's why it's called amateur journalism.
It may be a fad; it may be overwhelming, but it could also be another way for some savvy job seeker to market themselves. Just my musings!
My next blog will be a list of Career Buzz Words. Keep checking.
