This depends on who you ask.
Many people are fearful about AI, with one of the biggest concerns being job displacement. People are feeling that AI technology will replace their jobs. In some cases, that may be true. But we should keep in mind that AI has the potential to automate many tasks that are currently being performed by humans. This will then push some workers to acquire new skills or change careers if they want to remain employable.
According to a report by Goldman Sachs >> https://bit.ly/41zjSgF
<<, the effects might not be as bad as some of us think. It states:
“Although the impact of AI on the labor market is likely to be significant, most jobs and industries are only partially exposed to automation and are thus more likely to be complemented rather than substituted by AI.” It goes on further to say:
“In our baseline, these assumptions would be consistent with 7% of current US employment being substituted by AI, 63% being complemented, and 30% being unaffected, though the ultimate effects will depend on how labor demand and occupational workloads evolve in response to partial labor savings in the majority of occupations.”
If we follow the math:
โ๏ธ7% of jobs will be eliminated
โ๏ธ63% will augment our work, and
โ๏ธ30% won’t be affected at all.
If the above holds true, then the situation might not be as dire as we think.
Nonetheless, job seekers and career changers can prepare for the AI onslaught by:
โ Developing new skills that are in demand – technical and soft skills
โ Staying up-to-date with technology and industry trends
โ Focusing on soft skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and creativity. These skills will become increasingly more valuable as AI evolves.

We don’t know what will happen next, but we should all upskill and/or reskill to meet what’s coming.
