A rejection sometimes means you are being redirected elsewhere!
This client had been on numerous interviews, at least over the past two years, if not more. She received so many rejections, yet she never lost hope, even when it was easy to do so.
Every now and again I would check-in with her, and she always ended the conversation with, โAnother opportunity will comeโ.
She did everything that a job seeker is asked to do. She even went as far as soliciting feedback from interviewers to be better prepared for the next opportunity, but most didnโt respond. One response that baffled both of us stated:

Well! They reviewed her resume and knew she lacked the 8 years of experience. Why bother to invite her to the interview?
In August, she messaged me to say, โ๐ผ๐๐ฉ๐๐ง ๐ข๐ช๐ก๐ฉ๐๐ฅ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ซ๐๐๐ฌ๐จ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฉ๐จ, ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐ค๐๐๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ค๐ข _________ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐๐ฃ 18-๐ข๐ค๐ฃ๐ฉ๐ ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ฉ๐ง๐๐๐ฉ. ๐๐ค ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐จ, ๐๐ช๐ฉ ๐ ๐๐ค๐ค๐ฉ ๐๐ฃ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ค๐ง.”
Last Thursday she sent an update as shown in the message on the left. She was interviewed and has been offered a permanent position at this institution. It comes with benefits, and she starts in January. Hooray!
๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ the organization that told her she ‘lacked the 8 years of experience’? The same day she signed her new contract, they contacted her to ask if she were still interested in the role. Go figure!
The beauty of her story is how she has dealt with rejection after rejection. She never gave up on herself. After we communicated last week, she shared one of her favourite quotes with me:
