๐ซWhat are you GRATEFUL for?๐คฉ
One of my friends sent me the Christmas Card below. She was surprised to learn that GRATEFUL has been my Word-of-the-Year for 2023. It has served me well.
When I opened the card, it caused me to reflect on some of the things I have been GRATEFUL for this year.
โ๐ฝI thought of the gratitude I felt when 30+ women showed up for Visioning 2023. Some have been showing up since we started eight years ago, and although not everyone will return for Visioning 2024, several new and former attendees have already registered. ๐๐ฅณ. โ๐ฝI will never stop being GRATEFUL to the number of individuals this year, who have called my name in places where I was not present and for the opportunities that came as a result. Some of you don’t want to be named, but you know who you are.
โ๐ฝI am GRATEFUL to the three individuals who nominated me for a hashtag#100ABCWomen2024 award, including my daughter, who under the guise of interviewing me for a project, was secretly getting information to submit for the nomination. (A separate post will come about the award).
That was a Christmas gift wrapped first in an email, and then in a subsequent telephone call. Am GRATEFUL to the Panel who selected my name from a list of what I heard was 280+ nominees!
โ๐ฝI am GRATEFUL to the lady who wrote on Facebook recently, “๐ฟ๐๐๐จ๐ฎ ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฉ… ๐ฎ๐ค๐ช ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ฎ ๐ก๐๐๐!” You just never know the positive impact that one conversation can have on someone’s life.
โ๐ฝI am GRATEFUL for the group of coauthors of hashtag#21ResilientWomen, many of whom continue to support each other in various ways.
And, here’s the kicker…
Am GRATEFUL for the hard lessons learned this year from missteps, failures, slights and rejections. It wasn’t all rosy, am not someone who hangs around negativity too long. However, it’s during moments like these that you find your greatest learnings. They have made me more GRATEFUL for all the good that surrounds me!
As you usher in the New Year, let me leave you with this message:
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more; It turns denial into acceptance; chaos into order; confusion into clarityโฆIt turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”ย ~Melodie Beattie
That sums up my year of being GRATEFUL!
How about you? As the 2023 winds down, what are you GRATEFUL for?
