2024 proved that true leadership isn’t about titles โ it’s about creating ripples of transformation that extend far beyond any single moment.
This year felt like watching a garden I’ve been nurturing slowly bloom into something extraordinary. When my daughter (and others), unexpectedly nominated me for the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women of 2024, I was reminded that impact isn’t always about grand gestures, but about consistently showing up for others.
Some moments that defined this incredible journey:
โข Launched the Aspire to GROW podcast, giving voice to women leaders who are rewriting leadership narratives. Each episode is a masterclass in resilience and possibility. (A 2024 vision board accomplishment!)

โข Received the Outstanding Mentor Award from IMDOINGIT โ a humbling recognition that mentorship isn’t just about guidance, but about creating pathways for others to discover their own power. (This one was unexpected, but so grateful to have touched the lives of some young professionals)

โข My “Leadership vs. Bosses” post struck a nerve, reminding professionals that true leadership is about how you show up, even when no one’s watching. Leadership is a verb, not a noun. And, you don’t need a title to lead)

Beyond the accolades, what matters most is the community I have been building. The Let’s GROW Project expanded to the Aspire to GROW Leadership Academy, supporting women globally in turning career challenges into breakthrough moments. (There’s lots more to come in 2025)
Looking ahead to 2025: We’re not just growing a podcast or an Academy. We’re cultivating a movement where every woman sees her potential, challenges the status quo, and leads with authentic courage.
To every client and mentee who trusted me on their journey, every podcast guest who shared vulnerability, and every woman who dared to grow โ you are the real architects of change.
