π What’s on your reading list for the summer?
I have always been a book nerd!
As a child, my Mama knew she would find me under the bed reading when I didn’t want to do my chores.
Here are some recommendations straight from the library of the Aspire to GROW Leadership Academy. I have not yet read them all, but page-by-page, am getting there. Here goes:
π”Speak” by Tunde Oyeneyin is a motivational memoir and guide that combines her personal experiences with practical advice to inspire readers to find their voice and embrace their true selves. Through the acronym S.P.E.A.K. (Surrender, Power, Empathy, Authenticity, and Knowledge), Oyeneyin provides a framework for personal growth.
π”The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J. Schwartz is a book that encourages readers to set high goals, overcome fear and adopt a mindset of abundance and possibility to achieve their goals.
πβOwn Your Greatness” by Lisa OrbΓ©-Austin, PhD and Richard OrbΓ©-Austin is a self-help guide designed to help readers overcome imposter syndrome and build confidence in their abilities.
π”The Little Black Book of Success” by Elaine Meryl Brown, Marsha Haygood, and Rhonda Joy McLean is a practical guide aimed at empowering Black women in their professional journeys. It offers help on how to navigate corporate challenges, build leadership skills, and achieve career success.
π”Expect to Win” by Carla Harris provides readers with valuable insights on how to leverage strengths, create opportunities, and develop a winning mindset.
π”Optimists Always Win” by Kimberly S. Reed is an inspiring guide that demonstrates how maintaining a positive outlook can lead to resilience, growth, and triumph.
π “The Art of Active Allyship” by Dr. Poornima Luthra (She/ Her) is a guide that encourages individuals to become proactive allies in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. It outlines 7 key behaviours to foster inclusive workplaces, and emphasizes the importance of daily commitment to allyship.
π “Head & Heart” by Dr Kirstin Ferguson AM is a leadership guide that offers advice on how integrating head and heart can lead to more effective and compassionate leadership.
π “Lead With Influence: A Proven Process To Lead Without Authority” by Dale Carnegie & Associates, presented by Matt Norman, offers strategies for influencing others and achieving leadership success without formal authority.
π “Leading from the Middle” by Scott Mautz, provides insights and strategies for mid-level managers to lead and influence their organizations.
Four of these books are new additions purchased after attending some of the sessions at the Coaching-dot-com Summit.
I have my hands full, and no, I am not going to get through the four new ones over the summer. Am playing catchup with some of the others.
What about you? Let me know what your summer reading looks like!
