What answers would you offer to these questions?
I had an exploratory call with a potential member of my new project, Aspire to GROW Leadership Academy, yesterday. The discussion wasn’t about a job search. She is semi-happy with her current role, but itching for growth within her organization.
Here are some of the questions I asked her, and her annotated responses:
To become a successful leader in my field, to make a positive impact in my community and to inspire other women to pursue their ambitions.
My plans involve continuous learning, networking with professionals in my field, and getting out of my comfort zone to gain new skills and experiences that will help me achieve my long-term career goals.
My passions include advocating for gender equality, empowering women in the workplace, and promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives. “I read the 2022 McKinsey / Lean In report on Women in the Workplace, and know there’s work to do”, she said.
My strengths include strong communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and the ability to lead and motivate others.
To advance to a leadership position within my organization, to mentor and support other women in their careers, and to contribute to initiatives that promote social justice and equality.
That’s one woman’s clarity story. What about you? Can you answer those questions yourself?
